HEGGERTY PHONEMIC AWARENESS PROGRAM: BUILDING THE FOUNDATION
In our Reading Mastery Journey, we start by strengthening the first strand of Scarborough's Reading Rope - "Word Recognition" - with the help of the Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Program. Here, we focus on the sounds of letters and how they come together to form words. Through fun activities and games, we help students recognize and manipulate the sounds in words, making sure they have a solid foundation in phonics.

LEXIA LEARNING: CLIMBING THE ROPES OF WORD RECOGNITION AND LANGUAGE COMPREHENSION
Now, we move to the next level using Lexia Learning. This fantastic tool helps us continue building both strands of Scarborough's Reading Rope simultaneously - "Word Recognition" and "Language Comprehension." Lexia offers personalized learning experiences, helping students practice decoding words, improving vocabulary, and understanding the meaning of sentences. It's like climbing higher on our reading tower, making each strand of the rope stronger.
WRITE BRAIN CURRICULUM: WEAVING CREATIVITY INTO COMPREHENSION

To complement our Reading Mastery Journey, we introduce the Write Brain Curriculum. Here, we focus on enhancing the "Language Comprehension" strand of Scarborough's Reading Rope. Through creative writing and storytelling exercises, students not only understand the meaning of words but also learn how to use them to express their thoughts and ideas. It's like adding colorful threads to our reading rope, making it not just strong but vibrant and creative.

INTEGRATION AND ASSESSMENT: BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER
Throughout our Reading Mastery Journey, we regularly assess each student's progress to ensure they are mastering both word recognition and language comprehension. We integrate activities from Heggerty, Lexia, and Write Brain to reinforce the interconnected nature of Scarborough's Reading Rope. As students progress, they see how their skills in decoding words and understanding language work together to make them skilled readers.
